Our founder, Jack Taylor, named our company Enterprise as a salute to one of the World War II aircraft carriers on which he has served – the USS Enterprise (CV-6).

The ship was the most decorated vessel in the U.S. Navy fleet before its decommissioning in 1947. While the latest USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was inactivated in 2012, the Secretary of the U.S. Navy has since announced the name will live on in a new USS Enterprise CVN-80, a nuclear aircraft carrier to be constructed in the future. That will mark the ninth time the U.S. Navy has had a ship called Enterprise in its fleet.

Today, the “Enterprise" name is synonymous with the leadership and vision of our founding family – while “Holdings" represents the identity all of our businesses share as Taylor Family companies.
