Enterprise Introduces Solar Lighting, Natural Drainage and Rainwater Harvesting At New Monmouth Branch

With Round The Clock Van Rental from £6.35 Per Hour

EGHAM (May 15, 2019) – Enterprise has opened a new vehicle rental branch in the historic heritage town of Monmouth and has introduced rainwater harvesting and solar panel car park lighting to the location in order to increase sustainability.

The branch is located just off the A40 on a previously derelict site next to a petrol station. The Monmouth branch is the first Enterprise location in Wales to introduce rainwater harvesting for vehicle washing.

The new Enterprise location will offer local residents, businesses, tourists and visitors in Monmouth a fleet of 40 cars and vans, including hybrids and a range of fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicles to suit every requirement.

In addition, an Enterprise Car Club van is located permanently at the branch to offer customers 24-hour automated access to mobility via a smartphone app, 24/7, 365 days a year, from as little as £6.35 per hour.

Simon Aspland, Enterprise’s Facilities and Construction Specialist for South Wales and South West England, explains that this initiative is part of a continuing programme to increase the sustainability of branch operations.

“We spoke to Welsh Water when we were developing the site to agree the best way to meet our water requirements as part of the planning process. We decided to install natural drainage, where the water returns to the water table, so as not to affect existing water channels.

“At the same time, we decided to store rainwater in an underground tank so that we can recycle water into our wash bay. We also decided to use solar panel lighting in the car park to reduce energy usage.”

The new branch is being initially staffed by branch manager, Hannah Cox with the help of management assistant, Frazer Miller. Enterprise hopes to create two additional graduate management trainee roles over the coming months as the branch business develops.

The branch is located at Overmonow Service Station, Cinderhill Street, Monmouth NP25 5EZ.
